I’m Sean Mann, the creator of Framesmart. My journey into folded-paper art began when I wanted to make a gift for a friend but couldn’t find a suitable book-folding pattern anywhere. That challenge pushed me to design my own, and it sparked a passion for combining craft with technology.

Later, after sustaining an injury that made cutting book pages painful, I began looking for alternative ways to continue creating. That’s when I invented frame patterns — a completely new approach to folded-paper art designed for deep box frames. By using a cutting machine to take on the heavy work, I made the process easier, more accessible, and opened up new creative possibilities.

I’ve also been selling custom book-folding patterns on Etsy for several years, where I received excellent reviews from customers who loved the clarity, originality, and quality of the designs. My Etsy shop is still active today — and now I use Framesmart to generate the very patterns I sell there. You can visit my Etsy shop here to see that ongoing work.
