Number of Cuts / Folds

The Number of Cuts/Folds is a dynamic label that displays the exact number of individual actions required to complete the current pattern image. This is not an estimate — the value shown will match the final generated pattern.

Availability

Available for All Pattern Types.

How It Works

The Number of Cuts/Folds label updates in real time as you adjust sliders, settings, or reposition the canvases.

The total count is influenced by several factors, including:

  • Leaf/Page Count (Books only) – More pages increase the number of cuts or folds possible.
  • Folded Segments (Frames only) – More concertina folds increase the total number of cuts.
  • Dimensions – Changing Frame or Book dimensions alters the available canvas space, which directly affects the pattern detail and resulting count.

This ensures that the number always reflects the most up-to-date configuration of your pattern.

Why It’s Useful

  • Provides instant feedback on the exact complexity of the current pattern.
  • Allows you to compare different settings to balance detail with ease of folding/cutting.
  • Helps plan time and effort for completing the project.
  • Ensures no surprises when you start working on the final pattern.
